Isidora Lara

Predoctoral Research Fellow

Isidora Lara received a B.A. and a M.A. in Economics from the University of Chile, where she was actively engaged as a teaching assistant for various courses and as a research assistant on several projects related to macroeconomics, health and environmental economics, among others. Before joining Professor Alsan’s research team, Isidora was a research assistant in the Central Bank of Chile and the University of Chicago, and a researcher in the Latin American Center for Economic and Social Policies of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (CLAPES UC) where she worked on evaluating the fiscal costs of recent natural disasters such as the 2017 forest fires and 2023 floods. Her research interests lie in the intersection of climate change and environmental economics, and applied and structural econometrics.
